I’ll be offering a few short courses this fall — the first to begin September 13th. Perhaps they’re of interest to you or someone you care about. May you be well.
Cultivating Mindfulness to Cope with Stress (#138439)
Tue 7-8:30pm / Sep 13-Oct 11 / five sessions $83
Mindful awareness means paying attention to the experiences of the present moment: with openness, curiosity, and a willingness to be with things as they are. Sessions comprise sensory awareness practices, simple yoga movements (done seated, standing, or lying down), guided meditations, and at-home practice.
Mindful Eating (#138436)
Tue 7-8:30pm / Oct 25 and Nov 1 / two sessions $36
During this short course, we’ll discuss how physical and emotional hunger guides our habitual responses to everyday food. You’ll learn simple ways to use mindfulness and take-home tools to nurture a healthy and playful relationship to food.
Mindfulness at the Bedside (#138437)
Tue 7-8:30pm/ Nov 8 and 22 (no class on the 15th) / two sessions $36
Visiting someone who’s very ill or near death can be a scary and awkward experience. What can I bring – aside from flowers and grapes — when there seems so little to do or say? One answer is to acknowledge our self-conscious concerns and open ourselves to whole-hearted presence.
Practicing Loving-Kindness (#138438)
Tue 7-8:30pm / Nov 29-Dec 13 / three sessions $54
Loving-kindness is an ancient Buddhist practice (aka metta) that continues to be relevant in everyday situations. It helps us to develop non-judging acceptance of self and others — a perfect antidote to self-criticism and self-loathing. Guided practice in class and at home.
