Practicing mindfulness – a day retreat with horses

peony horses 040This event is fully booked. If you’re interested, please write and I’ll add your name on the waitlist for the next retreat. The date hasn’t been set.

I invite you to come to Mary’s Farm, a 30-acre sanctuary not far from Victoria, for a relaxing day of guided meditations, nature-based awareness, careful observation, mindful eating, and playful drawing – all within safe proximity of horses and their natural habitat.

Why with horses? Being prey animals, they live in the Now, acutely aware of their surroundings, neither ruminating about the past nor worrying about the future. Horses teach us about personal space, listening and observing, speaking without words, and trusting our natural intelligence.

Saturday, October 18, 9:30 am to 3:30 pm.

$ 60 (sliding scale to $45; pay what you can; no explanation necessary).  Small group.  No riding involved.  Dress for indoors and out. Refreshments provided. Bring a vegetarian lunch — plus one for another, to be eaten communally. Everyone is required to sign the farm’s Liability Waiver upon arrival.  Car pooling will be arranged.
